Essential oils have a multitude of uses from aromatherapy to soap. At Dewis Gwyllt we are exploring the potential for essential oil production from wild forest plants to help community woodland groups generate a small income.

Essential oils can be extracted from plants by a process called steam distillation. Here the natural aromatic compounds are turned in to vapour and then condensed.
